His birthday, September 15 is celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India every year. He is known for his very early contribution for development of engineering institute, KRS reservoirs, schools, irrigation for farmers. A highly prestigious, Shree Bharat Ratna Awardee, Mr M Visvesaraya, was born at Karnataka, village of Muddenahalli. He served at Mysore, during his career gave amazing infrastructures like the irrigation system with water floodgates at the Khadakvasla reservoir near Pune, Gwalior’s Tigra Dam and Mysuru’s Krishnaraja Sagara (KRS) dam.
