Nadi Parikshan a gem to Disease Diagnosis

Nadi Pariksha (नाडीपरीक्षा), the ancient art and science of pulse diagnosis, is a cornerstone of Ayurvedic assessment. Far beyond the modern measure of heart rate, it is a sophisticated, non-invasive technique that offers profound insights into the state of a person’s body, mind, and spirit. An experienced Vaidya (Ayurvedic physician) uses their fingertips to feel the radial pulse, listening to the subtle vibrational language of the body’s life force, or prana, as it flows through the channels (nadis).

Each pulse beat tells a story, revealing the real-time status of the three fundamental governing principles, the doshas. The movement felt under each finger corresponds to a specific dosha: the index finger detects Vata (often feeling like a serpent), the middle finger detects Pitta (like a jumping frog), and the ring finger detects Kapha (like a graceful swan).
